Creating a Fixed Asset : QuickBooks® Manual

Creating a Fixed Asset  : QuickBooks® Manual

Setting up a Fixed Asset in QuickBooks is a simple and straightforward process. Unfortunately, managing that Fixed Asset does result in some complications, even for a small business, because of tax laws requiring proper accounting for depreciation, major repairs, improvements, and retirement.  While these instructions show the basics of creating a Fixed Asset and posting a journal entry for straight-line depreciation, it is important for each company to work with its tax professional to determine the appropriate method by which to account for each asset.

New Account Setup Example

  • To begin, open the Chart of Accounts under the Company heading; this may be done through either the home page or the menus.
  • Click the + sign at the lower-left corner to open the New Account window.
  • From the drop-down Type menu, select Fixed Asset, give it a descriptive name, and provide a relevant description.
  • If only individual, rather than mass, Fixed Asset accounts are utilized, then it may be useful to setup the equipment name and model number in the Name field and list the serial number in the Description field.

If you get any difficulties above you can contact to quickbooks pro tech support number and they will guide you that how to get things done. Some businesses may wish to take a Fixed Asset approach that seems easier, and simply call this account “Property, Plant, & Equipment”, have it contain all purchase and depreciation transactions, and simply click OK at this point.  This is not the optimal approach and it will result in significantly more time, expense, and hassle, come time to file taxes, modify or retire an asset, or respond to any sort of audit.  It is highly recommended to stick with the approach of specifically defining each asset

Giada rolled out ARM based android desktop

A company name Giada, who is well-known in making downsized PCs has announced two ARM-based desktop computers that will be started shipping soon with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), known as one of the best operating systems now-a-days for Smartphones.
Giada had made its two ARM Desktops, Q10 and Q11.Both are very compact in size, measure 7.48 x 5.87 x 1.0 and when mounted in the vertical position it don’t take up much more space on a desktop than a typical router. The pint-sized desktops are built with Allwins A10 ARM processor, which runs at 1GHz and have Mali-400 MP$ graphics, makes desktop more powerful to use with the best graphics view. There are 5 ports of USB with 2.0 interface, four rear and one front. Many others ports are also there like VGA and HDMI ports, an SD/MMC Card reader, RJ45 jack, a fast Ethernet port to use modern internet features, and at last there is a support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Both the desktops include 1GB of DDR3 RAM but a small difference is that, the Q11 has 8GB of NAND Flash storage while Q10 has only 4GB of Flash Storage. A good feature of Q11 is that it has a rechargeable battery that allows you to disconnect computer and move it to another location without shutting down. It would also come in handy during a power outage.
One of the best feature both the ARM-based Desktops have that if you don’t like the Android or it’s hard to use then you will able to get a version of Ubuntu or Bodhi Linux to run on the systems. While Giada says at its website that its ARM desktops will be "coming soon," prognosticators are predicting the units will be showcased at CES next month.
Giada isn't the only company interested in Android desktops. Google's Motorola subsidiary introduced in September a "home entertainment terminal" only for the Chinese market that has an "all in one" PC look. The Motorola is offering, called the CloudBB, which runs on little bit older version of Android (Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread) with a Freescale i.MX53 ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 1GHz.

Like the Q10, it has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of NAND flash. However, its guts are located in an 18-inch LCD touchscreen display, which comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Google’s has the intentions to bring Android to Desktops and Laptops is no secret. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Search Goliath had filed for a patent in the United States for mapping touchscreen events to a trackpad, which would allow computers without a touchscreen to use Android.
After reading the awesome features about Android ARM-based desktops, you have to just wait for it to launched in the market.
